The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Iconista arrived in 2019 from a house that built its name on leather and restraint. The name suggests something iconic. Perfumer Julie Pluchet worked with a powdery violet heart, a warm musky base, and a bright opening that keeps everything engaging. Not a statement fragrance. Something softer, more deliberate, the kind of scent that arrives when you already know who you are. The composition settles close to the skin, revealing its facets slowly over several hours.
The violet-iris pairing is the structural backbone here. Both materials carry that powdery floral character, but Pluchet anchors them in red fruits and pink pepper. The drydown leans on patchouli and vanilla, which add warmth and body. It's a composition that knows its framework is strong enough to hold.
The evolution
The opening is immediate, red fruits hit first, bright and slightly tart, with pink pepper adding a quiet spice that keeps things from feeling too sweet. Bergamot threads through as citrus lift. Violet dominates the heart, that soft powdery floral that carries the scent through its middle hours. Orris root adds earthiness, a slight bitterness that prevents the violet from reading as purely delicate. Rose adds classic warmth without tipping into sweetness. The base develops over the next several hours, musk and amber creating warmth, patchouli grounding everything with its earthy woodiness, vanilla softening the edges into something close and intimate. This is where Iconista becomes itself. The violet and musk linger together, powdery and warm, long after the opening has faded.
Cultural impact
Iconista arrived in 2019 as part of the brand's fragrance portfolio. The scent sits within the house's broader collection, drawing from the Austrian-American designer's legacy of leather goods and bold accessories. The fragrance features a powdery floral heart with violet and iris, grounded by musky warmth and earthy patchouli, creating a composition that balances classic elegance with contemporary sensibility.
