Why it exists.
The beginning
Fruit d'Amour Turquoise arrived in 2017 as Emanuel Ungaro's take on the Mediterranean summer, not the postcard version, but the real one. Sand between toes, salt drying on shoulders, the heat that makes everything slow down. Perfumer Emilie Bevierre-Coppermann built it around the idea of a beach that doesn't apologize for being a beach: bright opening, unhurried heart, a base that refuses to let go when the sun does.
The structure is deceptively simple, citrus, white florals, warm woods, but the coconut and aquatic notes threading through it shift how those familiar materials read. Tiare flower isn't just tropical; it's salty-tropical, which changes the orange blossom that follows. The drydown trades the expected soapiness of marine fragrances for something warmer, closer, with patchouli adding an earthiness that keeps the sweetness from going flat. It's linear in the way good pop is linear: nothing wasted, nothing missing.
The evolution
The opening hits sharp and clean, grapefruit cutting through salt air, coconut rising like humidity. Within twenty minutes the aquatic note settles, and the tiare flower takes over. Creamy. Warm.
