The choice to pair lavender with asphalt reflects a deliberate tension in the brief. Lavender speaks to elegance and tradition, qualities that Chopard holds dear. Asphalt speaks to the raw, tactile reality of vintage motorsport, where cars ran on gravel tracks and drivers returned home smelling of engine grease. Myrrh in the drydown reinforces the artisanal angle, reminding the wearer that this is not a commercial exercise but a craft project built on contrasting materials that somehow cohere.
