Eternity turned 25 in 2014, and Calvin Klein marked the occasion the way the brand tends to: simply, without ceremony. The 25th Anniversary Edition for Women is a collector's take on the original Eternity Eau de Parfum, the same romantic white floral that became one of the signature fragrances of its era. Coty, which last marketed the release, handled the rollout. The bottle arrived in a metallic silver finish, the kind of object you keep on a dresser long after the juice is gone. It was a limited release, last marketed under the Coty banner, and it exists for people who already knew what Eternity meant to them. The silver treatment gives the glass a cool, almost mirrored weight, catching light differently depending on where you place it.
What makes this composition worth revisiting is its restraint. Sage gives the top a green edge that most white floral fragrances skip. Mandarin brightens without going sharp. The heart stacks lily varieties, white lily and lily of the valley, against marigold and narcissus, which adds an almost herbal bitterness underneath the sweetness. The evolution
On skin, the opening is brisk and brief. Sage leads with a cool green snap, mandarin adding a quick citrus flicker underneath, freesia softening the edges into something almost powdery. That herb-citrus brightness eventually gives way to the heart, and the white florals take over completely. Lily of the valley and white lily dominate here, with marigold lending a slightly haylike warmth and narcissus adding a faintly animalic depth that keeps the florals from going flat. The heart holds for an extended stretch, present but not loud, before the base settles in: sandalwood cream, amber warmth, patchouli's quiet earthiness.
