The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Glossy Green arrived in 2017 as part of Braccialini's Glamour Collection, a line that translates the brand's ornamental, color-forward sensibility into scent. The perfumer Amandine Clerc-Marie composed this one with a simple idea: capture the visual of green at its brightest, the moment sunlight hits a polished surface or a fresh leaf turns in the wind. Braccialini had been building its reputation on intricate handwork and unexpected decorative motifs for decades, and Glossy Green is part of the brand's ongoing translation of that visual language into fragrance. The 'Glamour' name reads as a deliberate statement, signaling that the line leans into visual richness as a core part of its appeal, and that decoration here is the point rather than the excess.
The composition earns its green not from herbs or leaves but from fruit. Red currant carries a tart, almost vegetal sharpness that reads as green on skin, the kind of sourness that flicks across the senses without settling into sweetness. Green apple adds that just-bitten crispness, a juicier note that rounds out the opening with a cooler, more edible brightness. Pairing that fruit-driven top with water lily and freesia in the heart keeps the whole thing from collapsing into simple sweetness.
The evolution
The opening belongs to the fruit. Red currant hits first, sharp and almost sour, the kind of tartness that prickles rather than purrs. Green apple rounds it out quickly, adding a sweeter, juicier edge that softens the currant's bite. Citrus notes flicker underneath, bright but not aggressive, reading more like zest than peel, lifting the fruit rather than competing with it. As the opening settles, the florals arrive, and they do so with restraint. Jasmine comes in low, creamy rather than indolic, the white-flower impression kept polite and powdery. Freesia adds a cool, almost cucumber-like clarity, a green facet of its own that bridges the fruit above to the florals here. Water lily does some of its best work in this stage, lending a watery, slightly mineral quality that makes the whole heart feel clean and breathable.
Cultural impact
Glossy Green arrived in 2017 as part of Braccialini's Glamour Collection, and it sits as a clear expression of the line's color-driven approach to fragrance. The scent is built around a vivid green register, achieved through fruit rather than foliage: red currant, green apple, and supporting citrus notes create a bright, juicy opening that reads as crisp and photogenic. That fruit-driven top gives way to a heart of water lily, freesia, and jasmine, a floral trio chosen for its cool, clean, almost watery character.
