The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Nathalie Lorson created Trussardi Donna Eau de Parfum Intense in 2019 as a luminous evolution of the house's feminine identity. Yuzu opens the composition with bright, tart energy that sets a crisp tone for what follows. The citrus clarity carries into the heart, where florals begin to emerge in soft layers. Everything else followed from there, building a fragrance that feels both immediate and evolving with wear.
Water fruit amplifies the yuzu, sharpening its brightness rather than softening it. The yuzu and water fruit together create a crisp citrus profile with a crystalline edge that feels vibrant and unshaded. Osmanthus adds a warm apricot-honey impression to the heart that readers may not identify by name but will recognize as warmth. Cedar grounds the composition, giving it substance and preventing the scent from becoming purely airy. The cedar provides weight without heaviness, keeping the overall impression balanced.
The evolution
The opening hits cool and bright, yuzu zest, citron peel, a whisper of something aquatic. Jasmine arrives first, its white floral character tempering the citrus brightness, then orange blossom threads through to soften the overall impression. Water lily keeps everything soft, almost translucent. By the time the base develops, sandalwood arrives quietly, followed by vanilla. Patchouli is the last to show up, a dry earthy thread that stops the sweetness from floating away. The drydown is intimate and close. What lingers on the skin is warm sandalwood with a subtle vanilla presence that stays close throughout the wear.
Cultural impact
Trussardi Donna Eau de Parfum Intense carries forward the Donna line's heritage in feminine fragrance, building on the house's Italian sensibility. The yuzu at its heart gives the composition a bright, clean quality that feels contemporary. The Donna line established an elegant approach to feminine scent that continues here, updated for modern tastes with a luminous, translucent character that reads as fresh and accessible.
