The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Trussardi launched Delicate Rose in 2012 as part of a broader effort to expand their fragrance wardrobe with a feminine scent that felt both modern and refined. The composition opens with yuzu, bamboo, and kumquat, a top register that delivers bright citrus energy before moving into a heart built around lotus and apple. Rose is present but works within this accord rather than dominating it. The overall impression is one of elegant restraint, a scent that reads as considered rather than heavy. Delicate Rose arrived in pink glass flacons of 30, 50 and 100 ml, supported by a line of body care products. The advertising face was Anja Rubik, whose composed presence brought a quiet modernity to the campaign.
Rose sits inside a lotus and apple accord that pushes the floral character in an almost aquatic direction, creating something that feels lighter and less conventional than expected. Yuzu leads the top notes with a tart, distinctive citrus quality that stands apart from more common lemon or orange openings. Bamboo adds green texture without competing with the florals.
The evolution
Yuzu opens bright and effervescent. Kumquat adds brief citrus sweetness before bamboo introduces a clean green lift. The heart arrives with rose present in the background while lotus and apple take center stage, creating a soft, watery floral that reads as lighter than the name might suggest. This shift from citrus to floral is smooth and organic rather than sudden. The drydown settles into warmth from musk, cedar, and sandalwood, a woody-musky base that stays close to the skin. On fabric or hair, the scent lingers longer, taking on an intimate quality as it fades into a soft presence that remains noticeable without being loud.
Cultural impact
Delicate Rose occupies an interesting position in the Trussardi fragrance wardrobe, sitting alongside the brand's other feminine releases from the early 2010s as an accessible yet refined option. Community feedback highlights its aquatic lotus character as its most distinctive quality, with the composition offering something that diverges from what the name alone might suggest. The fragrance appeals to wearers who want something pleasant and modern without projecting loudly, making it a versatile addition to the brand's range rather than a statement piece.
