The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Elise Bénat created Floral Touch So Fresh with a clear vision in mind. The Tous Touch collection had long been recognized as an important line for the house. But by 2017, the landscape of fresh fragrances had shifted, with many options leaning toward aquatic notes or synthetic interpretations. Bénat approached this differently. She composed a fragrance that opens with pear and lemon, delivered softly rather than sharply, the kind of introduction that invites you closer rather than pushing you away. These fruits arrive with gentle clarity, not aggressive brightness. The overall effect is one of understated luxury, the kind that speaks quietly but confidently. It's a fragrance that feels accessible and refined without ever needing to raise its voice.
The structure follows this philosophy throughout. Pear, lemon, and red apple create a fruity softness, each fruit complementing the others. The heart is where the fragrance reveals its character, and here Bénat chose lily of the valley and jasmine to anchor the composition. These white florals bring a delicate presence, supporting the opening notes with subtle grace. Raspberry adds a touch of tartness that keeps the heart from becoming too precious, while violet lends its powdery whisper.
The evolution
The opening doesn't demand attention. Pear and lemon settle onto skin without ceremony, joined quickly by red apple's brief sweetness. The citrus doesn't dominate; it simply opens a door. Within the first hour, jasmine begins to assert itself, but gently, the way light changes in the late afternoon rather than sudden noon. Lily of the valley threads through, adding greenness that prevents the florals from becoming precious. Raspberry appears as a whisper, there and then gone. By the second hour, the heart has settled, soft, warm, and thoroughly wearable. The base notes of cedar and musk arrive without fanfare, settling into the skin like furniture that's always belonged. This creates a quiet, close warmth that defines much of the fragrance's character, offering a comfortable and inviting presence that remains consistent throughout wear.
Cultural impact
Floral Touch So Fresh occupies a distinct space in the landscape of feminine fragrances, offering something different from the heavily aquatic options or the overly sweet fruit-forward alternatives. It presents itself as a fragrance meant for regular wear, the kind you can reach for without overthinking it, something that works as a pleasant background to a busy day rather than demanding to be noticed. The scent allows you to smell good without complicating things, providing a reliable option that doesn't require much thought or effort. It's the kind of fragrance that becomes a comfortable part of your routine, present but never intrusive.
