Why it exists.
The beginning
When Solinotes set out to explore ylang-ylang, the brief called for something thoughtful. Ylang Ylang Blossom, launched in 2019 and composed by Eric Fracapane, leans into something fuller than a stripped-down take. Rather than isolating ylang on its own, Fracapane built around it, treating the flower as the center of gravity in a white-floral constellation. The jasmine sambac opens with that narcotic sweetness only jasmine can deliver, rich and almost candied, while the heart introduces tuberose with its waxy, camphorous edge. The peach blossom threads through everything, adding a soft, fuzzy fruitiness that keeps the composition from tipping into something heavier. The result feels generous, a composition that lets ylang breathe without putting it on a pedestal.
Ylang is a heavy hitter among florals, and pairing it with jasmine sambac at the top doubles down on that narcotic sweetness before the heart introduces tuberose. The peach blossom works to soften those edges, and it does so gracefully.
