The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The Ibiza collection speaks in visuals, and #flowerpower is no exception. But where the name might suggest something ephemeral, a moment, a mood, a feeling, Ramon Monegal built it with structure in mind. The sweet-fruity opening needed anchoring, the florals needed weight, and the base needed to earn its keep. This is what happens when a perfumer treats a carefree name seriously.
The combination of loganberry and strawberry is deceptively simple, both can veer into candy territory if left unsupported. Pink pepper provides the first layer of defense, adding a soft spice that lifts without announcing itself. The rose and lily-of-the-valley then arrive to redirect the sweetness, while orris root introduces a quiet powderiness that keeps the florals from feeling too soft. The real work happens in the base, where patchouli, vanilla, and styrax create something that lingers long after the initial impression fades.
The evolution
The opening hits fast, loganberry and strawberry arriving together in a rush of tart-sweet berry. Pink pepper is the quiet heat underneath, a subtle warmth that prevents the sweetness from feeling obvious. Within minutes, the florals take over. Lily-of-the-valley brings its cool, green presence while rose softens the whole composition, creating a bridge between the bright opening and the deeper base. The patchouli shows up earlier than expected, pulling the fragrance downward before the florals have fully announced themselves. Then vanilla and styrax arrive, wrapping everything in warmth and a faint resinous smoke. The drydown holds for hours, patchouli leading, vanilla following, and that trace of styrax keeping things interesting. On fabric the next day, there's still something there: vanilla and something darker underneath.
Cultural impact
#flowerpower arrived in 2023 as part of Ramon Monegal's Ibiza collection, reflecting the contemporary appetite for playful yet sophisticated fruity florals. The Barcelona house, founded in 2009, carries four generations of perfumery expertise, and this release demonstrates their ability to translate Mediterranean warmth into a wearable form. In a market saturated with oud-heavy releases and gender-neutral positioning, #flowerpower takes a decisively feminine stance through its bright berry accord and airy white floral heart. The fragrance speaks to a generation of fragrance wearers who grew up on fruity cosmetics and are now seeking elevated versions for adult wardrobes.
