Why it exists.
The beginning
Nishane, the Istanbul house founded in 2012, built its reputation on bold Extrait de Parfum concentrations and collaborations with world-class perfumers. Anne Flipo, a master of floral composition, was chosen to reimagine Hundred Silent Ways for its 2023 tenth anniversary. Her task was to capture the original's elegant spirit while introducing fresh dimensions through peach, tuberose, and mandarin orange in the opening, gardenia and jasmine at the heart, and a vanilla-leather drydown that provides longevity and warmth.
The note selection reflects a philosophy of layering sweetness with depth. Peach and vanilla create a continuous thread of warmth, while the white florals bridge fruit and gourmand elements. Leather and patchouli ground this sweetness, preventing the fragrance from becoming overly soft. The combination of gardenia with vanilla represents a deliberate choice to balance opulence with comfort, creating a fragrance that feels both luxurious and approachable. This is not a fragrance that announces itself loudly but one that rewards those who get close.
The evolution
The fragrance begins with mandarin orange and peach creating an immediate sense of brightness and sweetness that feels both modern and timeless.
