The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Paolo Cerizza built Morriselle Pour Elle Le Parfum as a flanker to the original Morriselle Pour Elle, taking the DNA of the first and pushing it further, more presence, more depth, more of everything that made the original worth following in the first place. Released in 2016, the scent offers a richer composition compared to its predecessor, with increased sillage and longevity that invites a more intimate interaction with the fragrance as the hours unfold. The concentration level ensures that each application delivers a substantial presence that lingers throughout the day.
What makes this work is the balance between the cool, clean top and the warm, almost edible base. The hawthorn in the heart adds an unusual dimension, neither fully floral nor fully green, but something that keeps jasmine and orange blossom from becoming predictable. The interplay between these florals creates unexpected harmony, while heliotrope's almond-powder character adds sweetness without cloying.
The evolution
The opening hits citrus-bright: lemon zest, mandarin, a cardamom warmth that keeps it from reading as cleaning product. That phase gives way before the florals take over, jasmine asserting itself first, then orange blossom softening everything around it. The hawthorn arrives to ground what could have become another generic floral, adding structure and preventing the heart from drifting too far into predictable territory. The drydown is where this earns its name. Heliotrope and cashmere wood arrive together, creating a powdery and papery quality that lingers on the skin. That phase holds for hours. On fabric, the cashmere wood especially lingers, leaving traces the next morning on a scarf or collar. The progression feels deliberate, each stage complementing the last without harsh transitions.
Cultural impact
Morriselle represents the brand's approach to creating accessible yet thoughtfully composed fragrances. This 2016 release emphasizes heliotrope and cashmere wood, offering a powdery warmth that appeals to those who appreciate soft, enveloping scents. The white floral heart provides a clean, feminine character that connects with wearers seeking elegant, understated compositions. The emphasis on lasting power and depth reflects the brand's commitment to creating fragrances that offer something beyond the ordinary, without relying on fleeting trends or superficial appeal.
