The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Pink Honey arrived in 2014 as a summer limited edition, a seasonal riff on the original Honey that launched the year before. Both were created by Annie Buzantian and Ann Gottlieb. The scent opens with a bright, juicy burst that immediately evokes fruit punch, with berry-like sweetness dancing across the top notes. As it develops, the honeyed warmth of the heart emerges, smooth and golden, creating that unmistakable honey character without ever becoming heavy or cloying. The base lingers with a soft, slightly powdery sweetness that keeps the fragrance feeling light and wearable throughout its wear. The collector's bottle, painted in soft coral, catches the light beautifully and says everything before the scent does.
The note structure does something interesting: it opens with a cocktail of fruit, punch, mandarin, pear, that reads almost effervescent, then pivots into creamy white florals (honeysuckle, orange blossom) before landing in honey and vanilla. The progression from bright to soft to warm is almost chronological, like the arc of a single afternoon. What makes it work is the peach in the heart, it keeps the florals from going soapy and adds a nectar-like quality that bridges the opening and the base. The honey doesn't arrive all at once. It builds.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes are all brightness, fruit punch and mandarin create an immediate, almost giddy opening. Pear adds a slight green undertone that keeps it from going fully candy. Then the florals take over: honeysuckle and orange blossom arrive together, softening the edges into something creamier. The peach becomes more apparent here, lending a nectar-like warmth. By the second hour, the honey emerges, not animalic, not thick, just warm and golden. It settles close to the skin for the next three to four hours, joined by vanilla and soft woods. The drydown is intimate, quiet, the kind that someone notices only when they're close.
Cultural impact
Pink Honey, released in 2014 as a limited summer edition, expanded the honey fragrance universe established by the original 2013 Honey fragrance. The scent brings a bright, fruity dimension to the honey-forward concept, opening with an effervescent fruit punch quality that feels immediately joyful. The juicy top notes give way to a rich, golden honey heart that remains the soul of the fragrance, warm and enveloping without ever tipping into heaviness. As the scent settles, soft florals emerge beneath the honey, adding a gentle complexity that keeps the composition interesting on the skin.
