The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Lorenzo Pazzaglia grew up along Italy's Adriatic coast, where frozen mango-pineapple cocktails were childhood staples. When he set out to bottle a perpetual summer in 2023, he turned to those vivid memories. The brief was simple: translate a frozen mango-piña colada into a wearable fragrance, something that could transport the wearer even when winter drapes the world in gray. The result is Summer Hammer, a scent that prioritizes immediate pleasure without sacrificing nuance.
Mango and pineapple serve as the twin engines of Summer Hammer, their fruity sweetness balanced by coconut that threads through every stage. The white flowers and aquatic notes in the heart add subtlety, preventing the scent from overwhelming. Pazzaglia treats the drydown as an extension of the tropical narrative, using sandalwood and amber to create warmth rather than heaviness, with vetiver providing just enough earthiness to keep everything grounded.
The evolution
Summer Hammer begins with a burst of mango and pineapple that hits the skin like sunlight on fruit. White rum adds a subtle alcoholic warmth that fades quickly, while bergamot provides citrusy lift. The transition to the heart feels natural as coconut milk emerges, smoothing the transition from bright fruit to something creamier. White flowers enter gradually, adding a floral dimension that tempers the tropical intensity. By the drydown, musk, sandalwood, amber, and vetiver create a warm, slightly earthy foundation that carries the tropical theme into intimate territory.
Cultural impact
Since its 2023 debut, Summer Hammer has become a staple of the Self Portrait Collection, praised for its unapologetic tropical optimism. Wearers often cite its ability to transport them to a beach‑side cocktail hour, making it a go‑to scent for those chasing sunshine in any climate. Its playful yet sophisticated profile places it alongside other modern tropicals like Rayhaan's Tropical Vibe, cementing its role as a contemporary summer anthem.
