The brief given to perfumer Alexis Dadier centered on pairing materials that felt weighty, warm, and reflective rather than bright and fleeting. Sesame absolute, a notoriously tricky natural extract with a savory edge, was selected as a key note around which the rest of the formula would be sculpted. The composition leans into a nut-and-grain territory that feels deliberate and composed, balancing dense, oily textures against softer, milky ones. Wheat absolute provides a bready backbone while bitter almond introduces a clean, slightly marzipan-like accent at the top.
The development process involved several months of iterative testing, with Dadier working through a series of formula revisions to balance the sesame against the other materials.
