Why it exists.
The beginning
Vicuña LTHR arrived in 2025 from Ibrahim Al Qurashi. The name borrows from vicuña, a type of wool originating from a wild South American llama-like animal, prized for its expense and rarity. The LTHR collection translates that idea into scent, a fragrance built around tactile textures and weight. The composition layers warm spices and lavender over a deep woody base, working through a progression that rewards time on skin. Bergamot opens the door, cardamom and coriander introduce a cool, herbal brightness before the composition turns. Frankincense and myrrh settle into the heart alongside cocoa and iris, a combination that shifts the temperature from cool to dense. The base carries cedarwood, patchouli, vetiver, amber, tonka, and musk, anchoring everything with a dry, resinous gravity.
The composition takes an unusual path through familiar territory. Lavender, a note most often associated with clean, fougère-style freshness, sits in the opening alongside cardamom and coriander, but the heart pulls in a completely different direction with cocoa, myrrh, and frankincense. That combination of gourmand warmth and incense gravity gives the fragrance its center of mass. Then iris lands in the middle, adding a powdery, almost suede-like quality that earns the leather thread in the collection name.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes are sharp and green. Bergamot cuts through, lavender cools the edges, and coriander adds a slightly metallic brightness that catches the nose before it settles. Cardamom warms underneath, hinting at where this is headed. By the thirty-minute mark, the spices have thickened. Cinnamon arrives with a quiet heat, the cocoa starts to register not as chocolate but as a roasted, faintly bitter warmth that sits beneath everything. Frankincense and myrrh lift the whole composition, giving the middle phase a dense, resinous gravity without ever tipping into heavy-handed incense territory. The iris grounds it, adding a powdery, mineral undertone that earns the LTHR name. Around the three-hour mark, the base takes over completely.

Vicuña LTHR treats its resin and incense notes as structural rather than ornamental. The scent leans into multiple resins, heavy base materials, and endurance built into the architecture of the composition, then filters those elements through a modern lens. Wearers familiar with dense, incense-driven fragrances will recognize the gravity, but the lavender top and cocoa heart give it a contemporary edge that keeps it from reading as nostalgia.
