Gritti is a Venetian fragrance house that translates the city's love of art and storytelling into scent. Founded in 2010 by chemist-turned-perfumer Luca Gritti, the brand draws on centuries of family heritage tied to the Gritti name in Renaissance Venice. Tutù represents Luca Gritti's fascination with ballet and movement, channeling the illusion of weightlessness that a tutu's layers create. The fragrance begins with the same crispness as a dancer's first position, each note placed deliberately to suggest effortlessness rather than labor.
Luca Gritti built Tutù around the idea of layered translucency, matching each note's weight to the next. The opening's bright citrus and tropical coconut create an immediate impression of freshness, while the powdery heart adds depth without heaviness. The drydown's musk, raspberry, amber and vanilla work together to ground the fragrance in warmth, making it feel personal rather than performative.
