Super Nova didn't arrive from market research. It arrived from a white dwarf in a Type Ia supernova, where thermo-nuclear explosions scatter gold, silver, iron, and stone across the void. Luca Gritti took that image literally, the chaos-to-order of stellar death, and asked what it would smell like to wear the aftermath of an explosion. The answer is mineral-first, ozonic second, and quietly devastating in a way that has nothing to do with sweetness or softness. It's not a love letter to space. It's the residue of something that had to die before it could become.

The mineral and ozonic pairing forms the structural core of Super Nova, and it's rarer than it should be in modern perfumery. The mineral notes feel geological, like standing on salt flats at dusk. The ozonic notes aren't a beach breeze; they evoke the smell of ozone after an electrical charge, crisp and charged with potential energy. Together they create a spatial sensation, the feeling of being somewhere vast and empty, before the gunpowder arrives and adds a human dimension. Smoke from an explosion. The memory of heat.

The opening arrives sharp and immediate. Mineral notes hit first, not fresh or clean in the conventional sense, but geological. Artemisia adds a herbal green that cuts through the metallic, while green bell pepper brings an unexpected vegetable brightness that makes the whole thing feel alive, not sterile. It lasts sharp for the first portion of wear, a kind of cool alertness. Then the hand-off: ozonic notes expand and the gunpowder arrives, smoky and dark, laced with something that reads as almost burnt. The oud is subtle here, a background presence, warmth underneath the smoke. As time passes, the composition softens into the base. Cashmeran wraps the skin in something soft and slightly synthetic, the kind of warmth that reads as skin-like but isn't quite. Ambergris arrives last, bringing an animalic salt that rounds everything into place.
