Why it exists.
The beginning
Oceania arrived in 2019 from the Giardino Benessere studio, part of the house's Titani collection. Paolo Terenzi composed it. The name points somewhere vast and open, an ocean horizon more than a literal coastline. Terenzi built the composition around that feeling: the moment a breeze off the water meets sun-warmed skin and everything slows down. The scent opens with bergamot and orange, that clean, sunlit citrus entry you expect from anything aquatic-coded, but it doesn't stop there. Cardamom and pink pepper arrive early, giving the top a subtle spice that lifts it out of standard shower-fresh territory. The heart brings lavender and nutmeg into play, softening the brightness without dulling it. Oceania became one of the collection's fresher, more aquatic-leaning expressions.
What makes Oceania interesting isn't any single note but the tension running through it. Bergamot and orange at the top give it that clean, sunlit entry. Lavender, nutmeg, pink pepper, and cardamom share the heart stage, and that's where the composition starts revealing its real personality. The pink pepper and cardamom keep things lifted while the nutmeg pulls the heart toward something spiced and almost edible, a warmth that sits right against the skin rather than floating above it. The lavender threads through it all, herbal and slightly sweet, softening the spice without burying it.
The evolution
The opening is pure openness. Bergamot, orange, and cardamom hit bright, slightly saline, like breathing in deep near breaking surf. As the hours pass, the musk and sandalwood settle underneath, giving the whole composition a quiet creaminess that almost feels like fabric softener caught in warm cotton. The oakmoss adds a faint green anchor, barely perceptible but grounding.
