The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Flame of Gold arrived in 2021 from Ceyhan Elmas, a perfumer closely tied to Fratelli Diamanti's world of extrait de parfum and East-West composition. Its name suggests heat and precious metal, but the fragrance wears that idea in a more elegant register. Fresh notes and raspberry bring a clean, red gleam to the opening, while iris, rose, and oud build the center. The contrast gives the composition its identity: fruit-bright polish over a darker, woody base. It is a fragrance built around controlled intensity, where the bright opening never fully abandons the richness waiting underneath.
The unusual part is the balance between vivid fruit and grounded materials. Raspberry makes the opening feel almost jewel-like, while iris introduces a powdery coolness that keeps the composition from becoming simply sweet. Rose adds a polished floral center, and oud introduces depth beneath the brightness. Amber, sandalwood, and musky notes then give the whole structure a warm, soft landing. Nothing here is a blunt gourmand effect. It's a composed contrast of fresh, powdery, woody, and musky registers, with the fruit acting like a gleam across the darker base.
The evolution
The first impression is fresh and red, with raspberry bringing a clean lift before the composition settles into iris and rose. That middle stretch feels more intimate and powdery, while oud adds a darker thread beneath the florals. As the fragrance dries down, amber, sandalwood, and musky notes take over, turning the earlier brightness into a warm, polished trail. The oud gives the scent a memorable shadow, but sandalwood keeps it smooth rather than severe. By the later hours, the composition reads as soft amber, powder, and wood, with the fruit reduced to a subtle glow. Expect a moderate trail lasting around 4-6 hours.
Cultural impact
Flame of Gold sits within Fratelli Diamanti's cosmopolitan niche register, where Italian presentation meets Middle Eastern fragrance culture. Its oriental floral profile, polished oud character, and jewel-like name fit the house's wider emphasis on opulence, travel, and East-West exchange. It feels especially suited to collectors who want fragrance with a strong material presence, but not only one kind of evening scent.
The House
Fratelli DiamantiFratelli Diamanti is an Italian-named fragrance house founded by Ceyhan and Erhan Elmas, brothers whose work places scent at the meeting point of Italian perfumery and Middle Eastern fragrance culture. The brand presents a broad collection of niche perfumes, including Al Cielo, Royal Oud, Reborn Rose, Sha'mamia, Ten Miles, Shades of Grey, Florence, Al Mare, Al Vento and Montecristo. Its catalogue moves between oud-led compositions, floral names, atmospheric scents and references to place and travel. Public descriptions identify the house with extrait de parfum, giving the collection a clear identity within concentrated fragrance. Fratelli Diamanti also developed the Diamond Collection, a 15-fragrance series reported to include Montecristo, one of the house’s most discussed releases.
