The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Al Cielo arrived in 2021 from Fratelli Diamanti, a fragrance house shaped by Italian perfumery. The composition is built around a polished collision of fruit, sweetness, woods, and resinous warmth. Sugar cane and bergamot bring light into the opening, plum adds a ripe, dark-fruited center, and caramel gives the composition its indulgent pull. Cashmere wood and hazelnut supply a tactile softness, while ambergris and musk hold everything close. The result feels expansive in concept and elegant on skin, less a literal breeze than a high, polished world seen after dusk. On the opening, bergamot adds a bright citrus edge beside the rounded sweetness of sugar cane. Plum deepens the fruit into a darker, more generous center, where its juicy character meets the warm, caramel-like sweetness.
The interesting part is the balance between sweetness and structure. Plum and caramel give the composition a rich, edible center, while cashmere wood adds a smooth, woody frame around it. Hazelnut contributes a roasted, nutty edge, and resinous notes bring a darker register beneath the gourmand surface. Bergamot keeps the opening from feeling overly heavy, lending a brief lift of brightness before the warmer materials take over. As the scent settles, the fruit and caramel remain prominent, but they are joined by the drier facets of hazelnut and cashmere wood.
The evolution
Al Cielo begins with a lively impression of sugar cane, bergamot, and plum. The citrus gives the first moments a clean sparkle, while the fruit introduces a rounded sweetness that quickly becomes more substantial. As the opening settles, caramel and cashmere wood take the lead. The heart feels like warm sugar brushed across polished wood, with hazelnut adding a toasted, gently nutty depth. That is where the composition becomes especially compelling: sweet, but not sugary, and soft with a little edge inside. Later, ambergris, resin, and musk form the listed base of the fragrance. The fruit recedes, but its warmth remains, folded into the woods and resin. On skin, expect a polished amber sweetness for much of the wear, settling closer to the body as the hours pass.
Cultural impact
Al Cielo presents a sweet amber profile built around fruit, caramel, woods, nuts, resin, and musk. Its composition offers a clear contrast between the brightness of bergamot and the deeper warmth of plum and caramel. Cashmere wood gives the middle a smooth texture, while hazelnut adds a roasted, gently nutty edge. Ambergris, resin, and musk contribute to the base, creating a soft, close finish around the warmer notes. The fragrance is worth exploring through the way these materials interact: citrus lifts the opening, fruit gives it volume, caramel adds indulgence, and wood and nuts provide structure.
The House
Fratelli DiamantiFratelli Diamanti is an Italian-named fragrance house founded by Ceyhan and Erhan Elmas, brothers whose work places scent at the meeting point of Italian perfumery and Middle Eastern fragrance culture. The brand presents a broad collection of niche perfumes, including Al Cielo, Royal Oud, Reborn Rose, Sha'mamia, Ten Miles, Shades of Grey, Florence, Al Mare, Al Vento and Montecristo. Its catalogue moves between oud-led compositions, floral names, atmospheric scents and references to place and travel. Public descriptions identify the house with extrait de parfum, giving the collection a clear identity within concentrated fragrance. Fratelli Diamanti also developed the Diamond Collection, a 15-fragrance series reported to include Montecristo, one of the house’s most discussed releases.
