The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Scuderia Club is Ferrari's olfactory tribute to its official fan community, the people who wear the prancing horse not on a race suit but on their hearts. Launched in 2013 alongside the fragrance house's broader expansion into lifestyle territory, this scent was built for the Ferrari faithful who wanted a daily reminder of Maranello without reaching for the steering wheel. The brief was simple: translate the camaraderie and heritage of Scuderia Club membership into something you could apply before walking out the door.
What makes Scuderia Club structurally interesting is the tension between its fresh top and its warm base. The green tea and lavender heart is unusual in men's fragrance, these notes typically play supporting roles, not lead. Here they anchor the composition and give it a soapy-clean character that reads differently depending on your reference points. Some wearers clock it as luxury bar soap; others read it as green and tea-like. The ambiguity is intentional. White oud is a quieter material than its regular oud counterpart, adding depth without drama, which lets the herbal heart hold court for most of the wear.
The evolution
The opening hits fast and bright, ginger and cardamom arrive together, sharp and clean, with lemon cutting through like a flash of pit lane light. Mint and basil follow within seconds, softening the citrus before it can turn harsh. By the 15-minute mark the green tea and lavender begin asserting themselves, pushing the ginger back. This is where the soap comparison starts. Not industrial soap, more like the idea of soap, the memory of being clean. The freesia adds a faint floral sweetness that keeps the lavender from going into grandma territory. The drydown is where guaiac wood and vetiver earn their place. The tonka bean sweetens just enough to keep things warm without becoming gourmand. Vetiver brings its signature dry grass and earth, the smell of track-side dirt, if you want to push the metaphor. By hour six, on skin that runs warm, you're left with a faint woody skin-musk that barely announces itself. It doesn't project anymore, but it hasn't left.
Cultural impact
Ferrari fragrances occupy a particular space, they're not bought by people trying to impress anyone, but by people who already belong to the club. Scuderia Club is the entry point for the lifestyle-curious: someone who appreciates the brand's heritage but isn't ready for the assertiveness of Scuderia Red or the leather-forward compositions. The green tea and lavender heart gives it a softer character than most aromatic fougeres, which makes it approachable in a way that speaks to a wider audience without alienating the faithful.
