Easy to Love arrived in 2019 from perfumer Dora Baghriche-Arnaud, composed for the Mediterranean fragrance house Eau d'Italie. The brief, if there was one, seemed to be simplicity itself: six notes arranged across the pyramid, fig and white currant at the top, white peony and honey in the heart, ambrette and tonka bean holding the base. No complication. No confrontation. Just the name, doing the work it was always meant to do. Easy to Love, like Italy, like summer, like the memory of a place that never asked you to perform.
The ambrette and tonka bean base is where this fragrance quietly earns its keep. Ambrette seed, the musk from the seeds of the musk mallow plant, provides a clean, skin-like warmth that mimics the body's own scent rather than covering it. Tonka bean contributes coumarin's sweet, slightly toasted character.
