First Sight arrived in 2016 as part of The Gate Fragrances Paris's Love Collection, a series of fragrances that mark different moments of attraction and connection. Registered that year as a Parisian fragrance house, The Gate launched First Sight among its earliest compositions, a juice built to capture radiance with backbone. The brief was simple: bright citrus at the surface, enough herbal depth underneath to keep it from drifting into simple freshness. It was a scent designed to sparkle on first encounter but reveal something more grounded underneath, the kind of composition that invites a second look rather than fading after the first spray.
What gives First Sight its character is the interplay between its sweet and aromatic layers. Pear sorbet and lemonade sit at the top, confectionery notes that could easily tip into juvenile territory without something to anchor them.
