The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Green Climate arrived in 2025 from The Dua Brand, part of the Inspired Expression line, where each release engages with a fragrance that already lives in the cultural memory of perfume. This one draws from Lancôme's Climat, a green aldehyde composition referenced as a sibling scent to the Dua release. The architecture stays faithful to that lineage: aldehydes at the top, a dense white floral heart, and a green-aromatic base running underneath everything. There's a transparency to how the piece is built. The structure opens with that cold metallic burst of aldehydes, then softens as peach rounds the edges.
The aldehyde-peach top is a deliberate echo of a well-known template. Aldehydes at the opening produce a soapy, effervescent lift, and peach softens the metallic edge before the florals arrive. The heart is unusually crowded: nine materials competing for space, from bamboo's watery green to ylang-ylang's tropical density. Tuberose and jasmine anchor the bouquet with their creamy, narcotic pull, and violet adds a powdery curve that smooths the transition into the base.
The evolution
The first fifteen minutes belong to the aldehydes. They flash cold, almost metallic, like air conditioning hitting bare shoulders. Bergamot keeps the brightness from going sharp, and peach underneath prevents the whole thing from feeling clinical. By thirty minutes, the aldehyde curtain thins and the floral heart pushes through. Tuberose and jasmine lead, dense and creamy, with ylang-ylang adding a banana-skin sweetness. Bamboo runs through all of it like a green thread, keeping the florals from drowning in their own weight. Violet gives a soft, powdery curve. Around the two-hour mark, the base settles in. Sandalwood provides a creamy platform, vetiver keeps the green notes honest, and tonka bean adds a soft vanillic warmth. Civet does its work quietly, a faint muskiness that sits close to the skin.
Cultural impact
Green Climate sits within The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line, a collection built around homages to established compositions. This release draws from Lancôme's Climat, listed as a sibling scent to the Dua release, and uses it as a reference point for the green aldehyde architecture at the core of Green Climate. The composition enters a conversation about how classic scent structures can be rebuilt for contemporary skin, where the crispness of aldehyde-driven florals meets updated materials and modern wearability.
