The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Coronet is part of Thameen's Sovereign Collection, a series that draws its language from the Crown Jewels and British royal heritage. The collection takes its cue from the regalia of ceremony rather than the imagery of individual stones, treating the coronet itself as the subject. Released in 2025, the composition reads as ceremonial weight translated into scent, less about literal regalia and more about what ceremonial feels like on the body. The brief is woody-spiced resin at full voice, anchored by frankincense, oud, and a floral heart that behaves like a court whisper: present, deliberate, never raised. On skin, the opening carries a bright resinous crackle, the frankincense lifting first with that cool, almost mentholated edge it carries before any sweetness arrives.
What makes Coronet unusual is the way it balances its heavy materials. Frankincense and oud could easily overpower a heart of geranium, rose, and sage, but here the florals stay structured rather than dissolving into the base. Sage brings a dry, slightly bitter aromatic edge that keeps the sweetness of rose honest, lending a herbaceous backbone that grounds the bloom rather than letting it float.
The evolution
The first thirty minutes belong to cypress, juniper berry, and pink pepper, all green and dry with a clean sting that reads more like walking through a conifer plantation in winter than opening a perfume. Almost immediately, geranium and sage start pulling the green toward something herbal and faintly medicinal. Rose arrives quietly, not as a bloom but as a dried petal pressed into resin. The base takes over slowly, frankincense first, then amber warming the cedarwood underneath, oud arriving as a shadow rather than a statement. Smoke threads through the drydown without ever smelling burnt. Eight to ten hours later, the musk and vetiver are what survive on skin, soft and dry, more memory than presence.
Cultural impact
Coronet sits within a sober register that suits its ceremonial framing, offering a woody-spiced resin composition built around frankincense, oud, and a composed floral heart. The Sovereign Collection framing gives it a story, but the fragrance stands on its resin-and-rose architecture without needing the narrative to sell it. On the wearer, the scent projects with a measured sillage in the opening hour, settling into closer sillage in the late drydown where the oud and resins do most of the speaking.
