The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Superz Budapest was founded in 2021 in Hungary, drawing on Turkish perfume-oil heritage and a Central-European sensibility for bold, long-lasting niche scents. For Soho, they called on Gökhan Şimşek to create something that captured a metropolitan pulse. Şimşek answered with an extrait that honors the brand's oil-based concentration traditions while embracing modern perfumery's full palette. The result is a fragrance that speaks to both heritage and contemporary taste, built to last hours rather than minutes.
Superz Budapest selected notes that bridge Turkish oil-perfumery traditions with contemporary Western taste. The bright opening pays homage to the radiant citrus and floral oils central to Turkish perfumery, while the warm heart and woody base reflect a more international sensibility. Coconut and Mimosa create an accessible, immediately appealing introduction, while Tobacco, Saffron, and Oud ground the composition in niche perfumery territory. This pairing strategy makes Soho approachable without sacrificing complexity or distinction.
The evolution
The fragrance opens with a bright, sunlit trio of Mimosa, Coconut, and Jasmine, creating an immediate sense of warmth and radiance. Patchouli enters early, grounding the brightness with earthy depth and preventing any cloying sweetness. As the top notes recede, the heart reveals itself as a rich blend of warm materials: Tonka Bean and Vanilla create creamy sweetness, while Nutmeg and Cinnamon add spicy dimension. Elemi Resin provides an aromatic lift, Saffron contributes its distinctive leathery-saffron character, Tobacco adds textural depth, and Cardamom offers green spice that keeps the heart dynamic rather than simply sweet. The drydown transitions to Musk and Amber, with Oud bringing smoky depth and Sandalwood contributing creamy woodiness. This progression from luminous opening to warm heart to Intimate base creates a complete olfactory narrative.
Cultural impact
Since its 2024 debut, Soho has been praised for capturing the electric vibe of city nightlife, resonating with wearers who seek a scent that feels both comforting and daring. Collectors note its strong sillage and the way the sweet‑spicy heart stands out among contemporary oriental compositions, making it a frequent recommendation for evenings in urban settings.
