The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
H is Pantheon Roma's tribute to Florence, the city where the brand's exclusive retail partner Zhor opened its second store. Created by perfumer Arturetto Landi, the composition is anchored by giaggiolo, the Florentine iris, a flower historically significant to Florence and perfumery, a quintessential Tuscan flower still cultivated today in the hills around the city. The fragrance is the second in the house's exclusive collaboration with Zhor, following a partnership that began with the Milan boutique. H draws on Renaissance inspiration for its Florence tribute, where iris carries centuries of Florentine heritage as both a botanical and a cultural emblem. The result is a composition that feels rooted in place without resorting to postcard shorthand.
What makes H structurally interesting is the tension between tropical indulgence and powdered restraint. Coconut, monoï, and carrot seeds pull toward vacation and sun. Iris, freesia, and honey pull toward galleries, marble, and old books. The accord holds because the iris does something most coconut compositions skip: it refuses to let the sweetness stay simple. The iris adds a suede-like dryness under the cream, almost a textural counterpoint that keeps the coconut from feeling like a one-note dessert.
The evolution
The first 15 minutes belong to coconut and monoï, creamy and immediate, with carrot seeds adding a faint green-spice edge that keeps the opening from collapsing into sunscreen. Within 30 minutes the florals arrive. Tiare and ylang-ylang bring that tropical haze, but the iris starts asserting itself, cool and powdered, almost chalky against the creamy backdrop. By the two-hour mark, the composition has shifted entirely into honey and vanilla territory, warm and golden, with the leather surfacing like a low murmur underneath. The leather never shouts. It just darkens the edges of the sweetness, giving the drydown a faintly animalic depth that keeps the vanilla from becoming one-dimensional. Over the course of a full day, the fragrance traces a clear arc from tropical brightness through powdered restraint to warm, grounded close.
Cultural impact
Exclusively available at Zhor boutiques in Milan and Florence, H is part of a growing movement in niche perfumery toward limited, geography-specific distribution. The fragrance's availability only through a single retail partner in two Italian cities gives it a collectible quality, an object you encounter only if you seek it out in person.
