The X Collection presents new interpretations of familiar Nishane signatures. Tuberóza, the Istanbul house's original white floral, serves as the foundation for this iteration. Dominique Ropion, one of the most respected noses working today, was tasked with reimagining the original tuberose composition. The result is a more assertive take on the classic floral, pushing the familiar elements into unfamiliar territory while maintaining the core identity that made the original so distinctive. The creaminess of the tuberose absolute takes center stage, its indolic richness supported by deeper, more textured base notes that give the fragrance a more commanding presence on the skin.
The Indian tuberose absolute is the engine here, but Ropion's choice to pair it with violet and a lipstick accord is what sets this apart from standard tuberose fare. Violet brings powder to the party, cool, nostalgic, almost talcum-powdered, which tempers the flower's tropical creaminess without dulling it. The ylang-ylang and mandarin in the opening reinforce that sweetness but keep it from becoming cloying.
