The beginning
Devine Dominion is composed by Frederic Gieselbach and released in 2025 as part of Nebiru Parfvms' Linea Elite collection. The name itself is the thesis. The Linea Elite designation signals a release where material weight and composition ambition get pushed further than the everyday lineup. Citrus and spice at the top, a resinous floral heart, and a base stacked with three oud variants alongside one of perfumery's most polarizing materials. It's not a quiet composition. It's a statement of what the house is willing to build when given the room to do so. The opening announces its presence immediately, full-bodied and unapologetic, the kind of scent that fills space rather than whispers from the wrist. Where many compositions hold back, this one leans in.
What stands out about Devine Dominion is the sheer density of the base. Three oud derivatives from different regions sit alongside hyraceum, civet, nagarmotha, and tolu balsam, an unusual commitment to the darker end of naturals. The opening counterweights this with an almost aggressive brightness: blood orange, bergamot, basil, clove, and bay leaf, with sourcing that carries Italian specificity for the citrus and herbal notes. The balance between the radiant, almost effervescent top and the shadowy, animalic foundation creates a tension that runs through every phase of the wear.
The evolution
The first ten minutes belong to the blood orange and bergamot. Italian citrus at full volume, sharp and almost edible, lifted by basil and bay leaf into something that smells green and spicy at the same time. Clove hums underneath, just enough heat to keep the opening from collapsing into simple freshness. Around the twenty-minute mark the pepper and citrus begin to recede, and the heart takes over. Tuberose and jasmine sambac arrive with real presence, dusty and indolic rather than clean, grounded by Indian rose and the green bite of pine. Dong quai adds an earthy, almost medicinal undertone, the first sign that this composition has somewhere stranger to go. Ginger absolute warms the whole middle without sweetening it. The florals here carry a humid, slightly animal weight, leaning toward the night-blooming end of the spectrum.

It's the kind of release that treats composition as primary, with the citrus opening and the dense, animalic base working in deliberate contrast.
