Why it exists.
The beginning
Dote Silver arrived in 2023 as part of MAIOS's Dote collection. Its character is bright and precise, beginning with the clean lift of bergamot and the dry aromatic warmth of cardamom. Frankincense introduces a deeper layer beneath the brighter opening, giving the fragrance a more contemplative direction without obscuring its airy structure. The combination creates a composition that moves from clarity to resinous depth, with each note adding a distinct texture as the scent develops.
The composition becomes interesting where opposites overlap. Bergamot gives the opening polish, while cardamom adds a warm, granular snap. Jasmine and rose soften the center without erasing its woody frame. Cedarwood keeps the florals upright, Honduran styrax adds a dark resinous edge, and the base collects earthy patchouli, dry vetiver, myrrh, and Gurjan Balsam. Nothing here asks for volume. The balance does the talking.
