Patchouli Precieux arrived as a rethinking of Les Néréides' earlier Patchouli Antique. The house wanted the confrontation without the commitment, a patchouli that earned its power but didn't insist on holding it forever. Approached as a conversation between intensity and intimacy, the fragrance opens with full conviction, earthy, resinous, with a deep botanical richness that announces itself confidently. As time passes, the composition softens into something more subtle, revealing warmer, honeyed undertones that glide across the skin rather than demanding attention. The naming matters. Antique suggested history, weight, something that had been around long enough to have opinions. Preieux adds a different dimension, preciousness, but not preciousness.
