Why it exists.
The beginning
Vestis arrived in 2024 as part of the Private Collection Semiramide from Les Folies Du Parfum. The concept behind the scent treats getting dressed as a kind of theater, the daily act of choosing what to wear elevated into something closer to a performance piece, where clothing the body is secondary to clothing the senses. Vestis takes that idea and makes it literal. It is a fragrance styled as a wardrobe, a piece of olfactive attire you put on with intention. Each layer of the composition behaves like an element of an outfit: the opening bright and sharp, the heart extravagant and blooming, the base heavy and grounding.
The note architecture is where the composition earns its complexity. Florals this rich usually rest on powdery or musky bases, but here the structure refuses that convention. Lilac, orchid, peony, rose, and ylang-ylang sit atop oud, charred vanilla, and cashmere wood, a pairing that keeps the sweetness from collapsing into something soft.
