The beginning
Blue Laverne Sport arrived in 2023 as part of the Saudi house's expanding catalogue, composed by perfumer Gaël Montero. The release reads as a deliberate move into a men's fragrance that could carry a citrus-fruit opening without falling into the usual sport-fragrance shorthand. Bergamot, orange, and pineapple give it that high-energy first read, bright and almost briny, the kind of just-showered clarity that fills a doorway before you step through it. But there's a heavier anchor underneath that keeps it from being disposable. The composition doesn't lean on the citrus alone; it builds a foundation beneath it that gives the opening something to land on. The first impression is energetic, almost electric, but the structure underneath suggests the fragrance wants to stay past the handshake.
The interesting choice sits in the base. Cedar, peach, and tonka bean share a pyramid with pineapple, and the way they interact pulls the fruit toward something rounder, less cocktail-sweet, more like ripe fruit caught in dry wood. By the 5-6 hour mark most of what's left is tonka and a faint cedar dryness.
