J-Resina

Seven varieties of Boswellia populate the heart alone. Add black copal resin, white copal resin, dammar gum, onycha, the result is a balsamic architecture with no single dominant note. Instead, a layered density where each material contributes texture: the cool burn of frankincense, the honeyed warmth of copal, the quiet depth of dammar. Jasmine sambac and tobacco thread through, preventing the whole structure from becoming static. The base makes room for two oud origins, black ambergris, leather, and vanilla, a foundation designed to hold the weight above it.

The evolution

Yuzu and lemon zest burn off in minutes, leaving little trace. What replaces them is the point. The heart materializes slowly, not one resin, but several, each asserting a different texture. Frankincense smoke. Copal's faint sweetness. Myrrh's medicinal depth. Palo Santo and cedar add structure as the incense layers thicken. The transition into the base takes time; this is not a fragrance that rushes its drydown. When oud arrives, it does so with two origins, agarwood and Thailand, reinforced by leather and black ambergris. Rose and vanilla surface in the final hours, softening what came before. On fabric, the oud lingers into the next day. In skin, the ambergris adds a marine-animalic counterpoint that keeps the base from becoming purely woody. Moderate sillage. Intimate, not projecting.
