The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The name Raneem carries weight, a word that holds both sound and emotion in a single breath. Hamidi built this fragrance around that duality: the way a single note can land differently depending on who's listening, the moment a familiar tune becomes something private and new. The brief called for brightness that could deepen, florals that could hold their own against warmth. What emerged is a composition that opens with the clarity of citrus and ends in something intimate enough to feel like skin. It's a song the wearer finishes themselves.
Bulgarian rose anchors the composition, serving as the structural foundation. Lilac, lily of the valley, and linden blossom build anticipation with a cool, almost dewy quality before the rose arrives. Magnolia adds creaminess, giving the rose somewhere to land. The base compounds this effect: leather and suede provide warmth, while sandalwood, iris, and vanilla create a soft, intimate finish. The result is a fragrance that feels more intimate as it develops, not less. The florals blend seamlessly with the warm undertones, creating a cohesive narrative that evolves beautifully on the skin.
The evolution
The opening hits immediately. Bergamot and mandarin orange arrive together, citrus-bright and attention-grabbing. Lilac and lily of the valley temper the zestiness, followed by magnolia's creamy floral weight. The saffron is the tell, that medicinal spice cuts through the sweetness and announces something more complex underneath. As the composition develops, the Bulgarian rose asserts itself alongside ylang-ylang. Tuberose adds body. Peach and violet bring softness without sweetness. Carnation and nutmeg arrive quietly, warming the heart. The florals gradually yield to leather and suede. The amber, sandalwood, and vanilla in the base create warmth that stays close to the skin, not projecting, but present. This is where Raneem earns its name: a lingering finish that feels like a tune you can't quite place.
Cultural impact
Raneem offers a distinctive floral experience, pairing Bulgarian rose with a supporting cast of complementary notes. The composition bridges bright opening elements with warm, intimate drydown, creating a coherent narrative across the wear. Its blend of rose with warmer base materials showcases how floral-forward fragrances can achieve depth without heaviness.
