The beginning
Armani Code Ice arrived in 2014 as a cooler reinterpretation of the 2006 Armani Code. The original was known for its sensual, almost confrontational character, a fragrance that announced itself. Code Ice took the same idea and turned the temperature down. The brief, if there was one, seemed to be: keep the structure, lose the heat. Alberto Morillas was tasked with translating that concept into something that felt refreshing rather than provocative. Mint became the lead. Lemon and ginger followed. The woody base, guaiac wood, with a touch of tonka bean for softness, comes in and stays. This is where the fragrance earns its reputation for longevity.
