The beginning
An Unknown Dream is part of Folkwinds' Reserve Series, a 2026 release, and only 25 bottles were produced. The name reads like a half-remembered vision, something felt before it can be named, and the composition builds from that same logic: a procession of white and green florals layered so densely they blur into a single impression. The fragrance leans into its philosophy by translating not a concrete subject but something more elusive, a fleeting impression that resists easy categorization. Five floral materials sit stacked into a single opening that reads as one impression rather than a sequence, the kind of construction where the individual parts dissolve into the whole.
What separates this from a standard white floral is the density of the rose treatment up top. Japanese rose otto, Rosa rugosa otto, and Jasmine Sambac otto share space with violet absolute and honeysuckle otto, five floral materials stacked into a single opening that reads as one impression rather than a sequence. Then the heart introduces orris root in two forms, absolute and resinoid, doubling down on the powdery, rooty iris character that gives the composition its cool, almost mineral spine.
The evolution
