The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Sempre Mio was created for Delfina Deletrez Fendi, eldest daughter of Silvia Venturini Fendi, fourth generation of the founding family. The 2024 collection marks the approach to the 100th anniversary. Each fragrance in the collection centers a woman from the Fendi lineage, and Sempre Mio is built around Delfina herself. Perfumer Quentin Bisch worked with Fendi's high perfumery vision. The result leans into bergamot integrale and orange flower absolute, a combination that opens with bright, sparkling citrus before the floral heart arrives. The bergamot brings an almost bitter clarity that cuts through the sweetness, while the orange blossom unfolds with warm, naturalistic white petals.
The orange blossom and cedarwood pairing creates a nuanced aromatic experience. Orange blossom brings a delicate, slightly sweet floral quality, while cedarwood adds a dry, woody undertone that prevents the scent from becoming overly saccharine. The combination suggests a sophisticated balance between floral freshness and earthy depth, with each note subtly complementing the other. The fragrance evolves through distinct layers: a bright citrus opening, a warm floral heart, and a grounded woody base.
The evolution
The opening is immediate. Bergamot integrale hits with a bright, almost bitter citrus quality that cuts clean and stays there. Moroccan orange blossom follows quickly, arriving warm and full, naturalistic white petals with a slight green edge. The transition to the heart softens the bergamot without erasing it. Orange blossom settles into the skin, becoming more intimate than initial, while cedarwood atlas becomes the base layer, close and composed, not loud. By the drydown, bergamot has faded but the integrale character remains, a subtle bitter undertone detectable only by someone standing close. Cedarwood atlas holds, dry and warm, and lasts. The scent evolves over time, with each layer revealing new dimensions as the fragrance settles into the skin.
Cultural impact
Fendi's first major fragrance collection arrived in 2024, ahead of the 2025 centennial. Sempre Mio is part of this launch. The house approach treats personal and brand history as creative material. Each fragrance in the collection reflects a distinct personality from the family, making the archive concept a literal framework for the line.
