Imagine for Her arrived in March 2010 as part of Esprit's Imagine duo, a pair built around the idea of unexpressed longing and hidden emotional terrain. Véronique Nyberg, working through IFF, composed a floral-fruity EDT that opens with sharp pink pepper and mandarin before softening into a creamy, slightly fruity heart and finishing on warm vanilla and white musk. The opening carries that peppery brightness with real conviction, the mandarin offering a juicy counterpoint that keeps things from feeling sharp or austere. As the top notes begin to recede, the transition into the heart phase feels deliberate, almost choreographed, with the fruit giving way to a smoother, more rounded floral presence.
What makes the composition work is the tension between its spark and its softness. Pink pepper brings a clean, dry bite that gives the opening its character.
