The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Blanc arrived in 2016 from a Brazilian fragrance house. Its composition is built around a floral-fruity character that balances brightness and sweetness without becoming overly loud or syrupy. The name itself, blanc, white, suggests a blank page, but the fragrance beneath it is more layered. Raspberry and citrus establish the fruity side, while jasmine and orange blossom bring the floral register. Cardamom sits at the heart of the composition, adding a distinct note within the blend. Together, the notes create a fragrance that feels both fresh and warm, with enough structure to keep the fruit and flowers in conversation.
The composition moves between raspberry, citrus, and floral notes before settling into a sandalwood-vanilla warmth that brings the blend back toward the skin. Its sequencing gives Blanc much of its character. The fruit and citrus elements establish brightness, while jasmine and orange blossom add a soft floral dimension. Cardamom appears in the heart notes, creating a bridge between the opening fruit and the warmer base. The base is shaped by sandalwood, patchouli, vanilla, and amber. Patchouli and sandalwood give the vanilla a woody foundation, while amber adds further warmth.
The evolution
Blanc begins with a bright fruit-and-citrus impression, led by raspberry alongside neroli and tangerine. Lime is also listed among its notes, adding another point of brightness to the opening composition. The floral character comes through with jasmine and orange blossom, giving the fruit a more dimensional presentation. Cardamom belongs in the heart of the fragrance, where it adds another layer between the brighter opening notes and the warmer base. As the composition develops, the emphasis shifts away from fruit and citrus and toward the floral and cardamom notes. The base introduces vanilla, amber, patchouli, and sandalwood, creating a warmer, creamier and more woody final impression. Blanc therefore reads as a progression from bright fruit and citrus into floral heart notes and, finally, a soft, warm base.
Cultural impact
Blanc arrived in 2016 as a floral-fruity fragrance from Brazilian house Chlorophylla. Its composition combines raspberry and citrus with jasmine, orange blossom, and cardamom before settling into vanilla, amber, patchouli, and sandalwood. That range gives the fragrance a distinctive place within the house's catalogue: bright and fruity at first, floral through the middle, and warm and woody in its base. Blanc also connects with Chlorophylla's later Blanc Amour, released in 2017. Together, the two names show how the house explored related floral-fruity and warm base notes across separate releases.
