Leather and patchouli form the heart, adding depth without heaviness. The real magic is in the base: cedarwood's dry warmth paired with tonka bean's sweetness creates a finish that lingers without overwhelming. Labdanum adds that touch of resinous depth that makes the drydown feel complete rather than simply fading.

The evolution

The opening hits fast, cardamom's bright, almost effervescent quality cuts through, backed by grapefruit's citrus punch and cypress's green edge. Within minutes, the leather emerges, not as a shock but as a natural continuation. The lavender smooths everything, creating a bridge between spice and depth. By hour two, the patchouli and leather are fully in control, the heart phase settling into something warm and certain. The drydown is where Volcano earns its name, cedarwood's dry woodiness mingles with tonka's sweet warmth, labdanum adding resinous depth that lingers on fabric long after the skin phase has faded. Eight to ten hours is realistic, with the base notes holding strongest on pulse points.
