Why it exists.
The beginning
Silver Ceremony arrives in 2026 as part of BDK Parfums' Collection Studio, conceived in resonance with the precious radiance of sequins. The inspiration is couture, light, and metallic brilliance translated into scent. Jordi Fernández composed this fragrance at a high concentration, giving the composition the density it needs to carry a full spectrum of notes from sparkling citrus to grounded oud. The character is built around luminosity: the opening reads almost like light catching on fabric, bright and reflective, before settling into warmer registers that suggest the polished gleam of silver itself. The whole composition is designed to feel structured rather than airy, with each phase of the arc offering a different facet of the metallic, radiant theme.
The citrus triad at the top is entirely Italian: green mandarin, bergamot, and lemon Orpur, each contributing a different facet of brightness. The heart relies on CO2 extractions for pink pepper and ginger, lending the midphase a crystalline clarity that distinguishes it from softer, more rounded spice work. The base introduces a citrus-oud accord, a clean, almost electric version of oud that reads luminous rather than heavy. Moroccan Atlas cedar and labdanum ground it; cypriol and nagarmotha add the earthy rootnote that keeps the composition from floating away.
The evolution
The first 30 minutes are a study in light. Bergamot and green mandarin sparkle over the skin with that almost metallic edge Orpur lemon brings, bright enough to read as clean but never clinical. As the opening settles, pink pepper and ginger arrive with their own particular warmth, adding dimension without weight. The citrus holds longer than expected, threading through the next two hours and keeping the composition lifted even as darker notes begin to surface. Patchouli and Atlas cedar eventually take prominence, and the citrus-oud accord makes its presence felt, giving the base a luminous quality rather than the usual oud density. Labdanum and cypriol settle in last, and the drydown reads warm, slightly sweet, woody. What remains after many hours is a soft cedar-labdanum shadow with a faintly resinous edge, the kind of trail that lingers on the edge of perception.
