Why it exists.
The beginning
Extatic arrived in 2014 from the house of Balmain, composed by perfumers Emilie Bevierre-Coppermann and Sonia Constant. The composition leans into fruit and flowers from the very first spray, built to feel like a bright mood lift rather than a brooding statement. Lychee opens with its translucent, almost watery sweetness, shot through with blackcurrant's tart green edge and a flash of mandarin that adds citrus zest. It reads almost like a cold drink, bracing and clean. Then the composition pivots. Turkish rose takes the lead in the heart, fuller and more jammy than you might expect, with jasmine adding its warm indolic sweetness alongside magnolia's creamy lather. The fruit doesn't vanish. It recedes, turning into the sweetness underneath the flowers rather than sitting on top of them.
