Why it exists.
The beginning
Sailor Silver arrived in 2020, composed by Lorenzo De Mosici and M.H Gerashi for the house of Aurora Scents. The brief was elemental: capture the sensation of sailing into a cold, oceanic blizzard, with frost meeting salt and wind. The perfumers worked within Aurora's established aromatic tradition, drawing on a vocabulary of sharp citruses, cool teas, and resinous base materials that the house has returned to time and again. What emerged is a scent that reads as motion, not as decoration, a composition built on contrast rather than comfort, where every note earns its place by contributing to the sensation of cold air and open water rather than wrapping the wearer in warmth.
What sets Sailor Silver apart is how it balances two opposing forces. Citrus and green tea at the top bring brightness and lift, while blackcurrant adds a sweet, almost tart density that grounds the opening. The base of sandalwood, musk, petitgrain, and galbanum introduces a green, resinous bitterness that keeps the composition from tipping into simple freshness.
