Conceived in 2022 by perfumers Claude Dir and Mane as part of Zaharoff's limited Zedcreators Collection, Evening Mystique translates the hush of twilight into scent. The Milan-based house, founded in 1997, blends a modern American edge with classic European tailoring, and this parfum extrait favors depth over volume, precision over noise.
The note selection reflects a philosophy of contrast: herbal-earthy openings give way to cool-green hearts before resolving into warm-resinous depth. The pairing of carrot seed with frankincense creates a specific tension between botanical austerity and sacred resin, while the musk-orcanox base anchors the composition with staying power.
The evolution
The journey begins with carrot seed and angelica, their earthy bitterness creating a sense of arrival as evening settles. From there, the heart introduces a cooler register of cypress and iris, sharpened by juniper berry and softened by rose petals.
