The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Some fragrances arrive quietly. Others announce themselves. Secret Desire, launched by Superz Budapest in 2022, was designed to do something different: let powder and warmth coexist without apology. Perfumer Özge Erdoğmuş Altınel built the composition around a tension that rarely works, that moment where softness becomes presence, where a floral stops being delicate and starts being intentional. The name says it plainly. This isn't a secret kept. It's a desire that's finally allowed to speak.
What makes the structure work is the push and pull. Clove and violet open cool, almost sharp, a powdery crispness that doesn't prepare you for what follows. The heart escalates: rose thickens as tuberose arrives, its waxy indolic quality pushing the florals away from delicate and toward something with real body. Ylang-ylang adds tropical warmth. Sugar cane bridges the transition. The clove doesn't disappear, it waits, resurfaces in the drydown alongside cinnamon, keeping the warmth honest rather than soft. That's the tell. That's what separates this from a dozen other powdery roses.
The evolution
Clove and violet hit first, a crisp, almost medicinal powder that announces itself clearly. Thirty minutes in, the rose takes over. But it doesn't stay clean. Tuberose thickens the florals, pushing them into waxy territory, and the sugar cane smooths the transition without diluting it. By the second hour, vanilla and amber arrive, warm and close to the skin. The clove resurfaces in the base alongside cinnamon, it lingers longest, a spiced sweetness that stays on fabric long after the wearer has moved on. On some skin, it holds into the next morning.
Cultural impact
Released in 2022, Secret Desire found its audience among those mourning the discontinuation of Love, Chloé. Wearers describe it as a rose powder that glows rather than dusts, warm, intimate, and more confident than its name suggests. It wears well across seasons, though community data indicates stronger preference in spring and fall.
