The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Yours, Always & Forever arrived in 2025 as part of Smell Frankly's debut Collection 1. The brand treats fragrance as a wearable rather than a trophy, and this particular composition reads like a romantic offering from the lineup. The opening is generous: rose and peony unfurl across the first spray, a flash of rhubarb lifting the whole thing with its green-tart snap, the kind of scent that suggests a love letter written without irony. There's a softness here that feels deliberate, a floral lushness tempered by fruit so the bouquet never turns powdery or old-fashioned. It wears close to the skin at first, almost dewy, then settles into something warmer as the hours pass.
What makes the structure interesting is the tension between fruit and flower. Lychee and rhubarb in the top notes are sharp, almost fizzy, the kind of opening you'd expect from a bright summer scent. But then peony and rose arrive at the heart, and vanilla shows up early alongside them. Vanilla placed at the heart softens the transition from tart fruit to soft skin musk so the whole thing reads continuous rather than composed in layers. The florals never feel crisp or detached because that vanilla is already melting into them, rounding their edges and pulling them toward something warmer.
The evolution
The opening is almost startling in its brightness. Bergamot cuts through, lychee adds a cold sweetness that reads almost like biting into the fruit itself, and rhubarb pulls everything sideways with its green-tart edge. Nutmeg sits underneath like a low ember, not dominant but present, warming the whole opening before you can name what's happening. The fruit recedes eventually and the florals take over. Peony arrives first, soft and almost powdery, then rose deepens it with a richer, more saturated quality. The vanilla note starts to soften everything as the composition settles: it rounds the florals, keeps the bouquet from going too crisp, and gives the whole middle phase a warmth that reads like skin. White musk appears here, not as a separate layer but woven through, adding a clean softness that makes everything feel quietly luminous. Then comes the slow slide down.
Cultural impact
Yours, always & forever wears its heart on its label. The name itself reads like a tattoo, a wedding vow, or the closing line of a love note, which gives the scent a built-in narrative hook that fits the era of shareable, story-driven scent branding. Lychee and rhubarb offer a sweet-but-tart profile that feels current without chasing trends, while bergamot and nutmeg keep it grounded enough to avoid being dismissed as a straight-up candy scent. The combination of fruit, florals, and skin musk lands in territory that resonates with anyone drawn to romantic, emotionally charged scent profiles.
