The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Fame Intense arrived in 2024 as a deliberate expansion of what made the original Fame work. Perfumer Dora Baghriche-Arnaud, who also worked on the original Fame, was tasked with building a flanker that pushed deeper, warmer, more present. The brief was simple: more of the good stuff. Solar jasmine stayed at the center, but now it needed to feel richer, more opulent, the kind of warmth that doesn't just project but lingers. The answer came through layering: more incense for smoky depth, creamier sandalwood for a longer drydown, and coconut water as the bridge between the bright opening and the warm heart. This was a fragrance built for people who loved Fame but wanted more of it.
The note structure is where Fame Intense earns its name. Coconut water is unusual in this register, it adds a tropical sweetness that softens the bergamot and pink pepper opening without making it feel like a sunscreen flanker. The jasmine from Grasse brings that solar, radiant quality that defines the Fame identity, but the incense threaded through the heart adds a smoky counterbalance that keeps the florals from going too sweet. Ylang-ylang amplifies the tropical feel while adding a creamy, almost buttery depth. The base is built around sandalwood cream and Virginian cedar, woody materials that ground the composition and give it the longevity to outlast an evening.
The evolution
The opening is immediate: bergamot and pink pepper hit first with a bright, sparkling quality that reads as confident rather than aggressive. The coconut water softens everything almost immediately, adding warmth that feels sunlit and tropical. There's a pleasant tension in those first minutes, the citrus brightness fighting against the creamy sweetness. Then the jasmine takes over. It's solar, radiant, almost luminous, not indolic or rubbery, just warm and present. The ylang-ylang and incense move in together, and this is where the fragrance finds its character. The smoke threads through the florals like a counter-melody, creating a push-pull between brightness and depth that makes the heart interesting. That's the tell. That's the moment where Fame Intense stops being a sweet coconut fragrance and becomes something with actual complexity. The drydown strips everything back to its essentials. Sandalwood cream anchors the composition, while Virginian cedar adds a quiet mineral edge. White musk stays close to the skin, intimate, warm, present.
Cultural impact
Fame Intense performs at a level that works for a full workday, strong longevity, moderate sillage, the kind of presence that stays with you without overwhelming the room. Community reviews consistently highlight the depth compared to the original Fame, with strong longevity on clothing and versatility across seasons and occasions. The coconut-jasmine-incense-sandalwood combination draws inevitable comparisons to Alien Goddess, but Fame Intense carves its own territory through the smoky incense and sandalwood drydown. Some find the coconut slightly synthetic. The projection leans intimate rather than room-filling, better for close encounters than large spaces. Those who connect with it tend to reach for it repeatedly.
