The evolution
Pure Chemical No Natural opens on a cold, metallic burst. Aldehydes flash bright and fizzy against the green-tart snap of Methyl Pamplemousse, like glass shavings over a chilled citrus peel. Within minutes, the aldehyde fizz recedes and Calone lifts the composition with a watery, ozonic cool, while Citronellol adds a faint, transparent rose-tinged edge that keeps the heart from feeling sterile. Iris Concrete enters next, powdery and slightly earthy, supported by Hedione's airy, sheer-white jasmine that stretches the composition sideways and prevents any single note from dominating. The transition is smooth but unmistakable, each phase pulling the next into view like a series of well-timed reveals. As the drydown begins, Iso E Super gives the wood a velvety, almost velour-like softness, with Javanol adding a creamy sandalwood cushion beneath.
